Why is the subject significant to the HR profession?

HR many times is the individual responsible for responding to an EEOC charge, it is important for the HR Professional to be aware of how EEOC’s mediation program works and how it could benefit the company/organization.

Bio:
Ms. Blalock holds a B.A. degree with a double major in English and Education and a Master's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in supervision and administration. Prior to joining EEOC, she conducted English classes in various states on all secondary levels including the collegiate level. During her career with EECO, Ms. Blalock has performed multiple functions, including full investigations, front line investigations to determine further processing steps, outreach activities, and communication with the public and private sector concerning EEOC's charge processing procedures. Additionally, she has served as Supervisor of the Customer Service Unit and has worked with federal agencies to ensure compliance with federal EEO laws and regulations.

Currently, Ms. Blalock serves as the Outreach and Training Manager for the St. Louis District. While serving in this capacity, Ms. Blalock is responsible for all media relations, for the development and design of publication brochures for the St. Louis District Office and for the development and delivery of training programs for both EEOC staff and external groups, such as individual employers, labor organizations, and organizations and associations consisting of employer advocacy and legal representatives.
